Real Men Get Pedicures

Despite popular belief, real men get pedicures too! When I first started here at Le Jardin Day Spa and Salon, I was a little taken aback by the number of men who walked through our doors to have nail services performed. It had never dawned on me that men would seek services that so many consider feminine. I questioned whether they were somehow coerced to come here by desperate wives or girlfriends, or whether it was a decision that they had come to on their own? Well, curiosity got the better of me and I did a little bit of research. It turns out that men are almost single-handedly “helping to make nail care one of the fastest growing sectors of the beauty industry,” according to the AARP website. As men age, and become more comfortable in their own skin, they start to make decisions based more on their quality of life than social stigma. Manhattan podiatrist Jacqueline Sutera, MD explains, in the AARP article, that “it’s become much more socially acceptable for men to get pedicures. As people age, it becomes harder for them to see to trim their toenails or to bend down.”
So there you have it fellas! Real men get pedicures. I hope to hear from you all soon!
